Saturday in the Backyard.....

The weather was delightful today. We took full advantage of it by
hanging out in the yard from about 10:30 am until
3:30 pm. I pulled her easel outside along with the bubble table ,some snacks,
and a stack of magazines for myself, and we just hung out.
We painted, blew bubbles, played on the swings and in the sandbox
and even read a book or two while Farmer Dad worked on repairing our
front stairs and some driveway cracks.
For lunch we had some warmed up in the sun home made pizza left over from last night.
We cuddled and watched the clouds float by while listening to some children's music
we borrowed from our library. Then we came inside and Princess played doll house with her Dad
while I took a shower to get all the sand, paint and soap bubbles off of me.
Now she is watching a play put on by a group of kids in our local rec.department on our local cable station
while I catch up on my mail. Now we will need dinner.....

Thank you both for your kind words,
we had a lovely day.
I am so glad we were outside, because it has been raining all day today.

That sounded really really really great. I am feeling so nostalgic for Z at that age and also anxious to buy a house with a yard so we can do those things again.

What a lovely day. And what a great idea to bring the easel outside- I never would have thought of it!

looks like a fun day! We love to paint outdoors, I'm working with Alex now to try to paint our big oak tree or something we see. I'm hoping she'll get interested in landscapes.

Have a good one!

My homeschool buddies and I are all posting pics of our "home schools" as part of our idea sharing.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
