We will also be using Science is Simple and Art Across the Alphabet.
Not to mention the many library books we will take out and the wonderful children's literature
that is piled in every room of our house.
We have also recently found actual homeschoolers in our general area that have daughters her age!
2 different families. I am very excited for her, because she needs more female friends, and homeschool friends.
The one Mom is trying to organize a "science play group" at her house once a week, which I think is right
up Princess's alley! Hopefully we will all "hit it off" and she will have friends her age, schooling the way we do,
to socialize with. Whew! Now the "social" burden can be lifted and I can get on with the task of educating her,lol. We are also going to make more of an effort to see our homeschool friends from our play group who live here in NJ, but a little bit of a drive from us.Really we are!
I have to re charge my camera batteries, and then I will post pictures.
I also need to get the details for her party down this week....September is just around the corner!

We love the Making the Grade books!
I loved the Hirsh books. I would read each section, head to the library to get some picture books and such. It made things very easy.
The science play group sounds like lots of fun. And it's wonderful you could find other homeschooling kindergarteners for P to spend time around.
My preschool-at-home kid is "losing" most of her playgroup friends to preschool this fall. I hadn't considered looking up a homeschooling-specific social group for her since she's so young yet, but I may have to if there are no preschool-aged kids left in playgroup anymore.
Wow, you guys are now actually involved. I can't wait to get to that part. How exciting Kate. We have a group here, I just haven't looked into yet. I am hoping this winter. Oh and your books, you must be so excited.

C & Y- This is our first foray into
a homeschool group, we'll see how it goes. I am very hopeful.
It all sounds so exciting!! Kindy can be a hard year socially as all the other kids are off too school and then are so exhausted that first year they stay at home in the afternoons and weekends. Finding other hs'ers makes a huge difference. I'm sure as Princess gets older, her needs for playing with other kids will lessen so just one or two friends will be enough, and then you can relax!
I love your meez, and am surprised to see you are brunette considering your golden-haired daughter ... aha! I scrolled down and saw a small picture of you hidden near the bottom of your weblog ;-) You look as lovely and friendly and NICE as you come across in your writing. The camera was an essential touch - I love all your photos.
I'm in party planning mode as well. I have to admit that I love theme parties, and would give the kids a choice of two themes *I* had thought would be fun and went with it. They were never sorry after, and it made me happy!
