Unplugged Group Project

Mom Unplugged group project topic is......(drum roll please)

Puzzle

Some ideas (depending on the age of your child):

- Cut up a picture on a cereal box and have your child put it back together (lots of intricate pieces for older kids, just a few simple pieces for younger ones). If you have no available cereal box, glue a magazine page onto some cardboard and then cut.

- Do a family puzzle together. Leave it out on a table all week and put in a few pieces as you all pass by it. See how much you can complete in one week.

- Have your kids (or you, for them to complete), make up crossword, word search, or sudoku puzzles.

- A scavenger hunt? List objects that each child must find in the house or outside. First one with everything wins their choice of family board game to play or book to be read aloud.

Here is what we came up with.......OK, we totally bailed on the unplugged project.
The only thing we did that was unplugged all weekend was sleep and read.
Princess woke up at 4 am on Saturday with pink eye (yuck!)
and my pediatrician called in a script for her.Cleared up nicely, but she does
still have her cold, and so do I. We have been sleeping a lot and although she has
moments of great energy in between being too tired to move, I do not.
I hope we are out of this sick funk soon, I just don't like it.
I will get a book post up somehow for Tuesday..I already started it.

I think that you guys should just cuddle up on the couch under a nice cozy blanket and read some good books or watch movies. It sounds like you could use a few days like that. Hope you feel better soon

I hope you both are feeling better soon. Oops, that's exactly what Nina wrote. But I do mean it! (Er, I'm sure she means it too ... as do I ... argh!) ;-)

Is there anything worse than a sick momma AND a sick child? I'm glad P's pink eye has cleared up already. Keep sleeping as much as you can so you can get rid of your cold and get back on track. Rest up!

Bummer! Get well soon, and give yourself a break if you can.

Thank you all for your well wishes.
I am feeling slightly more human today,
but I fear Princess is worse.
More snuggling on the couch for us today with a pile of books and the tv remote. ;-)

My homeschool buddies and I are all posting pics of our "home schools" as part of our idea sharing.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
