Unplugged Project

The Unplugged Group Project over at Unplugged Your Kids is
titled Egg Cartons
Be sure to stop by her site to check out what all the participants have done
and to leave your link if you join in.

Here are a couple of pictures of what we
do to egg cartons around here....

We use them for plastic eggs in the play kitchenThis one has numbers inside so we can use it for math as well.

We use them for "story time"
We have several stories that I cut out the pictures and the stories (short finger plays)
we glue them to large Popsicle sticks or tongue depressors and cut slits in egg carton.
Then we can put the pieces into the egg carton in order as we sing the "song/story".

We also use them to hold our paint and mix our paint colors (disposable palette).
If there is paint left over, I just put the whole thing in a plastic ziploc bag and leave it on the counter.
This is by far our favorite way to use egg cartons!

Those are all excellent ideas. I especially like your story display! Also, that is quite ingenious using the egg cartons as a paint palette and then storing the unused paint in a ziplock bag. Thanks for the ideas!

Great ideas.. I think that I might have to borrow the story idea one for Gabe. I think that he would really like that Idea. The others are wonderful ideas to.

What great ideas. I never would have thought of using egg cartons to hold up little story puppets. I must remember that.

My favorite is the paint idea. Don't know why I never thought of it. This week we used some disposable paint pallettes that the boys had gotten for Christmas and I was not impressed. The only thing I liked was throwing them out when we were done. I would much rather use your idea. Thanks!

I love all your ideas, but I especially love the painting palette because we paint a lot and I can just throw it away!!!

I would never have thought of so many ways to use an egg carton! My favorite was the story telling one- I will absolutely be using that one!

the finger puppet use is the one that is new and fascinating for me. If I taught Sunday School still, I would use that there.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
