Volunteer Fireman's Day!

Princess and I were hoping to bring some muffins
and cookies to the Firehouse that keeps our neighborhood safe,
however she is still sick enough that I don't think we should
"visit" anyone with our germs.
We will be reading Firefighter's to the Rescue,
and No Dragons for Tea (again) and coloring some
pictures and talking in general about how wonderful
it is that so many people volunteer to make the world a better
place. We saw an example of this earlier in the week with the
car accident that happened right outside our living room window.
Princess got to see first hand how these Volunteer Firemen, and
Emergency Medical Services people do their jobs. She also enjoyed
the four or five police vehicles that showed up,including the accident
investigation team taking pictures and measuring debris locations.
She has seen them at the Night Out Against Crime, but seeing them at work
made a much larger impact.

I will get a photo of some craft ideas up in a little while.

Wow, to see it first hand. Zachary would have loved to see that.

I am glad everyone was okay, that really made it a neat opportunity for a child to view rescue workers.

My homeschool buddies and I are all posting pics of our "home schools" as part of our idea sharing.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
