The Gold Rush

We will be learning about the California Gold Rush
if you would like more info check out these sites

We will be reading a National Geographic Society book,
Gold Fever.....

and Wagons West! by Roy Gerrard

Princess would also like to do some math worksheets, so we will do that as well.
This was supposed to be our lesson plan for Yesterday, but time got away from us.
Little Man wanted/needed more attention and so we played and cuddled all day.
We also made bread and muffins.
We were unable to attend science play group today due to his schedule changing
a bit this week, hopefully it will all fall into place next week.If not, we'll have to start making some changes.
I hope you have all had a productive week, we did more work than I thought,I feel like we were a step behind all week. We did get some gym time (roller skating) some art (painting and coloring) and lots of books and fun were shared.
Next week is bound to be different if not better.

It looks like P likes to rollerskate. I haven't been brave enough to get the Agents on skates (yet they ski frequently......)

It sounds like you had a pretty good week. I hope that little man is doing better with all of the extra love you and P gave him. Here is to hoping next week is different tho, our was a little on the emotionaly draining side.

Thanks for the gold rush links! We will be learning about the gold rush when we study California.

By the way, last week we learned about New Jersey:) The girls loved hearing about the diving horses that were a part of Atlantic City's past.

It looks like you had an interesting week of learning.

We have been to Sutter's Mill a few times because we use to live an hour or so from there. Ami was still a baby though. We will have to take her someday.

She did fake panning for goal at another park. They put fools gold in sand and water and they shake off the water and the sand.

My homeschool buddies and I are all posting pics of our "home schools" as part of our idea sharing.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
