Princess did some writing and reading and worked with her See and Spell in the morningbefore Little Man arrived.We read a few "Princess" books that I have written about previously,
like "Princess and the Pizza" and
Princess Smartypants
We also read Lights for Gita
in preparation of a little Diwali celebration we planned for the evening.
We did some artwork while Little Man slept and then Princess decorated two cupcakes.
Little Man turns 2 on Saturday, so we had a practice Birthday celebration for him
after his nap.Oh yeah, he napped. I think Princess wore him out running around
the living room dancing to Joe Scruggs Ants CD.
They have been loving it all week.
They played blocks and made a mess until his Dad came to pick him up.
They pick up together pretty nicely, so I don't mind the mess.
Farmer Dad had taken a vacation day, so he was around all day finishing up some
"winterizing" chores and running errands for me, like the bank and pet store.
It was a nice day. Princess hung out alone for a bit until he came home from a
visit to his friend's, and then he took her to McD's to play and eat and I hung out alone.
Alone. Can you believe it? I did a bit of laundry and read a paperback from the library.
They came home in high spirits and we all hung out until bedtime.
Princess has been in bed asleep by 10:30 pm every night for 6 days in a row!
This is a record for us.Now I need to figure out what to do for the Unplug project on Monday.

Go glad P and LM have hit it off! You get all the positives of having two kids without having two kids...ha, ha, ha!

And so glad you had time alone. We all need that!
You do such fun things with Princess. I like that you're doing something for Diwali.

and talked about the holiday.
I think it's a great idea to have a little Diwali celebration. Even if all you do is light some votives and talk about the holiday, Princess still knows about it and that it's important to a lot of people. Wonderful idea.
