Just a Small Note

I'm very excited to say my first issue of Victoria came in the mail this week!
Big hugs to Patience who let me know it was on again!!
I haven't cracked it open yet, I'm saving it for a quiet hour or so with a pot of tea.
Maybe I'll even make one of those pretty tea cakes I'm always admiring on Patience's blog.
And then I got an e-mail telling me that the first issue of Secular Homeschooling
is back from the printer!
Have you been looking for a secular homeschooling magazine? We have, and a homeschooling Mom
did more than wait, she started one
www.secular-homeschooling.com .
I can't wait for my first issue.
So many of the other Homeschooling Magazines make me feel like
the "odd man out". I'm looking forward to reading this when it gets here.

I'm going to try and find a single issue of Victoria this weekend- so many people have been raving about it, I'm dying to see what the fuss is about!

I ordered a single issue Secular Homeschooling way back when, so I can't wait to get it. Have a good weekend!

I pre-ordered just one issue of Secular Homeschooling a long time ago, but I didn't get an e-mail update. (Did you get a full subscription or just one issue?)

Have you read Home Education Magazine? That seemed very secular to me.

I have never heard of Secular Homeschooling, but I am interested now! Thanks for the tip. And I love Home Education Magazine very much, for the resources and even the ads. Rebecca Rupp has a regular article in it that has wonderful lists of books and websites for different topics.

Hi Gals, yes I got a full subscription...putting my money where my mouth is for once, lol.
I tried (2 times) to get a subscription to
Home Education Magazine, but they kept messing my account up...I'm giving up on them for the time being.

Ah, what a bummer! I hate it when things like that get messed up. I don't actually have a subscription, I get older issues from the library.

B- I read it at our library too.:-)

I'm jealous - we don't have HEM at our library - I'm forced to resort to tacking it onto the grocery bill. ;)

(((Kate)))!! This is why I don't like my Google Reader! For some reason it doesn't pick up some posts. How LOVELY that you have Victoria. I am envious, I can't seem to find it anywhere here. Dh tells me not to mind, just to spend the money on fabric and lace instead and make my life like a page from Victoria ... ah, men never understand. I want to have my magazine and make it too!!

Fabulous find. I just ordered a copy of Secular Homeschooling. I wonder how long it will take to receive it. Thanks for the link. Have you had a spare hour to read Victoria? I looked through it at the bookstore last weekend. I wasn't compelled to buy it.

What Patience said made me laugh. years ago, I had a subscription to Victoria and my dh would say "Oh look another cover with flowers on it." lol

I am trying to catch up on all your posts. I've been so behind. I don't know how you manage to post most days but I love that you do.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
