Bright,Bright,Sunshiny Day!

Yeah! The sun has returned!

It is very cold outside, but it is a bright sunny day.

Farmer Dad has his tins of seeds and seed catalogues

spread out on the dining room table today....spring

must be on it's way! Here is a pic of some of the tomatoes we grew last year.

That is quite a haul! We are in the middle of it this year, and it is the first that Girlie is taking charge. We are studying botany, and are making the planning and seed starting part of it. I am encouraging her to start some herbs as well as veggies, since I have not always had the best of luck hardening stuff off.

I look forward to hearing about your choices!

We also read the Bear Snores On. The second one is Bear Stays up for Christmas and that is a cute one as well. We are not going to start our planting till March. I have given my MIL to be in charge for that. We hope to do some sprouting clover seeds and alfalfa...MIL is very much into sprouting so we'll be trying that.

My homeschool buddies and I are all posting pics of our "home schools" as part of our idea sharing.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
