Unplugged Group Project :Food!

This week's Unplugged Group Project is Food!
We have been busy today tending to ours, so
I didn't have time to blog, but here goes.
FOOD..we try to grow our own.
Here are some seedlings we have grown
so far this year..mustard greens, lettuce, swiss chard,
bok choi and pak choi,
corn,beans,cucumbers,peas and the asparagus
pop up every year.We have also sown beets, carrots, radishes
and parsnips, but you can't see them yet.
Princess helps with everything from turning over the soil,
raking the beds, sowing the seeds and marking the flats.
She also weeds and helps harvest when the time comes.
I know, this feels a bit like cheating, but we were definitely unplugged. ;-)
If you join in, link back here so we can all see..next week is Turn Off Your TV Week,
and the following weeks theme is Scissors.

Looks so lush and healthy!
I'm a bit jealous.. with our impending move they'll be no time for planting. Good luck with your first harvest!

I'm so J. Starting a garden is "on my list" but yours looks so good I wish I had one going now. I'm clueless when it comes to planting things!

Your seedlings look great! We have been starting seedlings in our apartment!... to plant in our community garden plot... although we keep some as houseplants, too.

Wowsers! What a garden.
...making me feel inept......

Except for potatoes, we will grow from purchased plants this year.

I am impressed. This is not cheating, and it is definitely unplugged! I really like your new header photo. Very pretty!

By the way, even though it is TV Turn-Off Week next Monday, I decided to do "scissors" then. My post will be up Sunday night (late). You can join in late if you want and post later in the week, or even the following week. There'll be a new theme for that following Monday (28th)...so perhaps you could do both during TV Turn-Off Week and post them both on the 28th if you want!

These are gorgeous, and making my mouth water already! Can you share where you got your lovely little hothouse?I find that is exactly what we need to transition inside seedlings grown under lights for hardening off. Its the perfect size! Email me, if you can.

It is a great project. I love all the fresh food you guys will have. I have a question for you though. On my site you mentioned that you guys grew your own food in flower boxes. Do you have any recomendation on what grows really well in them, because I want to grow more and I have no clue. Any help would be great thanks:)

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
