Adventures on a Saturday..

Saturday dawned bright and clear in the way the world
does after a nice rain. Farmer Dad headed out to his
Organic Gardening Club meeting and Princess and I cleaned.
I went through all my school supply cabinets in the kitchen and
moved some things around a bit, I took out the "winter" themed stuff
and just moved things around so she can "see" some unused things more.
I stripped the curtains from the kitchen and started giving the room a good spring scrub down.
We did a lot of laundry and filled a recycling bin with old papers etc. I still have a lot to do,
but I feel like I accomplished a lot too.I was the first one to bed for once..it was so nice.
Sunday morning was bright and shiny too, but it soon turned gray and cold.
Farmer Dad picked up coffee and breakfast and we enjoyed a quiet breakfast just the two of us
while Princess slept in.I woke her up before heading over to my sister's to pick up some fabric
she got from a freecycle and to help her move a bed she was giving away.We visited a bit with my Grandmother
and then came home to work around here some more. After lunch we took a ride to pick up sand box sand
for Princess and then played outside a bit even though it was cold. Then we took a ride after dinner to pick up an
early birthday present for me..I will post pictures later. Now we are all getting ready for bed.
I hope your weekend was lovely too.

If I could turn back time, I would beg to trade weekends with you. Except you'd be getting the short end of that stick, and I wouldn't be able to live with myself, so scratch that thought, and, please, let's just remember your lovely weekend while we forget about mine :-)

I love saturdays like that. I also love that pic on your sidebar of Princess playing in the candlelight.

Doesn't it feel good to do some spring cleaning. I totally have the bug too.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
