Homeschool Play Date

I have been slacking off in the blogging area...just too busy being
with Princess. This weekend was busy with another birthday party
and just hanging out together, and we do not have Little Man this week,
so we spent Monday in our jammies (Monday used to always be "jammy day").
We did not even attempt the Unplugged Project this week. Truth be told, we had
almost no "school" either. Princess has been writing a lot...numbers, notes to friends,
lists of things she likes etc. We have been reading, taking long baths with bubbles
and bath crayons and paint (which we had not used in a while).
Yesterday we pulled her doll house out from it's hiding spot as the pieces are too little for Little Man
as well as the wooden blocks and Lincoln Logs.
The kitchen table is full of crayons, markers and colored pencils again..ready for inspiration to strike.
Today we went to our homeschool friend's open play date. It is so nice to be with like minded people
and Princess loves spending time with the girls. They played dress up and made all sorts of things with play doh.
We shared a snack and headed home for lunch.
It's been snowing since mid morning and we're hoping for enough to play in tomorrow.
Hopefully I'll get to my book post in the morning.

Hope you get some snow. We had very little and then rain and ice. Yuck weather.

Homeschooling breaks are a good thing.

Thank you for stopping by and commenting, Kate. Between pets and a very special princess, it sure looks like you have your hands full of fun over here! Pumpkin looks a little like my Ivan, and a little like Wisteria's Zilla. Alley is just precious!

I'm wondering if you plan to restart the gardening blog when spring rolls around -- gorgeous pictures you have posted there...

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
