Beach Day

After the rain and gray skies of Friday, Saturday was a pleasant surprise
of blue skies and sunshine. We drove down to Sandy Hook to enjoy it.
Happily, the bag of sand toys was still in my truck from our last visit,
so we grabbed a blanket and sweatshirts and snacks and hit the road.
Princess was very happy to settle down at the "surfing" beach .We hung out and ate some leftover homemade pizza and watched the surfers mostly waiting for waves. Then some other children arrived and they played together until
we packed up to head over to the bay side and watched the windsurfers. It was beautiful down the shore today.
Princess was happy to get back into her car seat after all the walking and we headed home to listen to more music
and do some drawing in our "school room-3 season porch". Our friend stopped by with his young son and the kids played for a little bit and then Princess went over to visit my sister. I'm heading back to my chair to read after posting pictures. Farmer Dad will be off Monday and Tuesday, so my computer time may be limited.

What a pretty beach. We are hoping to get to the beach sometime soon. It will be neat to notice the differences from West Coast to East Coast. Looks like a fun day!

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
