Middle Name Pride Day

Today we talked about Princess's middle name and
why we used it(Farmer Dad's Dad).We talked about what
it means and we practiced writing it.We worked some more on
her "name" scrapbook.
We read some more great stories and we played "Study Dog"
on the computer. When the timer went off, she begged to have
a little bit more computer time to play Roller Coaster Tycoon.
Since she was pretty well behaved today, I let her. She lasted about
12 minutes when she decided she'd rather play with her dolls.
This afternoon we'll be heading out to our local AC Moore store
for a "make and take craft" event with Princess's friend and her Mom.
We have not been anywhere lately and are going a bit stir crazy!

I like the idea of a name scrapbook. I need to write that onw down. Have fun at the craft making. We are enjoying very sunny albeit still cold weather this afternoon. It should be coming your way. The sidebar changes look great. You should do another post with the pictures of your school room. I like how they are on the bottom of the page but I wonder how many people see it. Also, I mentioned before you can shorten my blog name to Painted Rainbows if you don't want it sticking out of the margin. It's fine with me.

I forgot to mention on the comment below. I love the surprised look on Princess' face in the first photo.

Thanks Nina, I will try to get the pics up or put new ones on this week.
We never made craft time, she was
coughing and just started a runny nose.I'm waiting impatiently for Spring.

I hadn't heard of this, but I love the idea. I'll have to bring it up to Girlie, whose middle name is "MacKenzie" , for child of Kenneth (my DH given name, though he goes by his middle). SHe lvoes finding the meaning in names!

Enjoy your day out! Sometimes that is just what we need!

I envy you being able to allow her to just do craft in the morning. With daycare child, it seems so difficlut to just hand it to them ,KWIM? the last few days, I have been sick Zacahry has been on his own and I noticed how much fun he was having to do painting at 6pm instead of 10am. I am reorganizing again. It looks like you have a "corner" where you have all your work space. I am trying to find that "corner' as well but can't seem to find it in my aprt. LOL. It seems like a hassle to do crafts, and I am trying to make it where, if they are in the mood to cut with scissors, then they are able to without me pulling out everything, KWIM? LOL

I find if I have a couple of "craft"
ideas in a ziploc bag or a shoebox including supplies, I can pull one out quickly when she asks.
I will try to photograph a few in detail this week for you to see.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
