Getting ready for Saint Patty's Day...

Today we will be learning a bit about and having some fun with
Saint Patty's Day. I have some lovely print out crafts and have
planned a "rainbow hunt" for Princess. We were going to make
Irish Soda Bread, but we're out of buttermilk.
Maybe we'll hit the food store before the rain hits.

A rainbow hunt is such a fun idea. I need to write it down for next year. So much better than a shamrock hunt. I have about an hour before Citcat wakes from her nap and I need to cut out 10 shamrocks to hide. Rainbows would be so much easier. There is nothing like waiting until the last minute-literally. LOL

LOL, I didn't cut out rainbows, just
wrote down clues in colored pens
and attached each to a "colored" item in the house...clue #1 was "go to the red chair in the living room"
the clue there#2"go find the fake orange in your play kitchen" etc.
I was using the colors of the rainbow.
I never thought to draw a rainbow.
My plan was to leave her with a pack of "chocolate coins" for her gold at the end of the rainbow, but I forgot to pick up a pack..lol
so I left a poem "Roses are red,VIOLETS are blue,I hope you had fun on this rainbow hunt, because I sure love you!" LOL

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
