4th Installment,Books on Monday

This week we will be learning about kites in honor of
Kite Flying Day. Here are some of the books we will
be reading:
Curious George Flies a Kite by Margaret Rey with pictures by H.A. Rey
Kite Flying by Grace Lin
Kites For Kids by Burton and Rita Marks illustrated by Lisa Campbell Ernst
The first two are fiction books for fun and the last a "how to" book
for making your own kite and flying it.
We may or may not use this depending on Princess's interest.
Princess has been very into "doing science" lately, so I also have
Bubbles,Rainbows & Worms Science Experiments for Preschool Children
by Sam Ed Brown
The thing I like best about this book is that it lists other children's books which would work with
each section as well as Teacher resource books.

I need to pull out Curious George as well. I am going to order Kite Flying from the library right now. Citcat is really looking forward to the day when the wind is right. I might even try Bubbles, Rainbows and Worms. I need to dive into Science is Simple a little more. I start reading a chapter and then get bogged down in what I don't have or what I think is too difficult for Citcat. I need really easy experiment ideas, at least right now.

We did not get all the way through Curious George today, but Kite Flying was a big hit,Princess loves her pictures! I have been looking through the science books to find some experiments to keep her happy.
We have not finished our crafts today, because the warm weather arrived and we took off to spend time with my sister. Maybe tomorrow.:-)

My homeschool buddies and I are all posting pics of our "home schools" as part of our idea sharing.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
