Today is Yom Kippur, the day of atonement.
What have you been doing with your life?
What do you plan to do with it?
***
It is also National Children's Day!
If you are not taking part in Yom Kippur,
perhaps you can make time to celebrate
your child (or children) today.
Princess still has a cold, but if she feels like eating,
I will make her whatever she wants today.
I have already promised many board games and maybe
some doll house play. It will be an inside day, as it is
raining here.We have been concentrating on her growing
reading skills lately, and will continue to do so today.
The other stuff can wait while she enjoys her breakthrough!
I was going to take her to Target to use some of her birthday
money to pick up a couple of things she requested but did not get.
We also have a trip to B&N and Lakeshore to use our generous
gift cards. Princess is especially excited to go to Lakeshore again.
We haven't been in a while, and the whole place is filled with "stuff she wants".
This will all wait for another day when it isn't raining and the kids are back in school.
For today, we will use our new hot air popcorn popper and pick a movie and we already have a stack of books
next to the couch that she wants to read today. Her new thing is to pick a stack out before going to bed
to be read the next day.I think it gives her something to look forward to.
Maybe after reading Emma (again) we will pull out our painting supplies and paint our town,
or maybe we'll pull the play dough out and sculpt an elephant like Horton.
We may just color for hours and hours, or she may decide to practice her writing on her chalkboard.
Maybe we'll make a rain gauge.Princess does enjoy things "weather" related.
I am just hoping she feels better before the weekend. Saturday is the Sweet Prince's 6th Birthday Celebration,
and afterwards she is supposed to go pumpkin picking with her cousin Manda and her fiance.
She may even get to spend time with baby C. who may be down visiting his Grandma and Aunt.
It will be a busy weekend. I hear coughing, my day begins now.
Enjoy your celebration wherever you are!

I hope Princess feels better soon; I would love to celebrate my child, but he's not home yet. :-(
Yeah, I woke up this morning and the streets were allll wet. Then I saw the rain on the Weather Channel heading north... At least it is a nice warm front bringing it in.
It's raining here too, but my mom in CA says the heat is breaking reacords there! Crazy weather. I would rather have rain. What a cute pic of P and baby C, makes me miss our baby C as well, though he is on west coast and not more like a toddler. I hope you have a wonderful day!
Yep, cold and rainy here too. Poor Princess. Hope she gets better. I day of coloring sounds like fun to me!
Feel better Princess :)
More than ready to celebrate children over here. Gonna be a granny for the second time in May! WooHOOO!
((Hugs)) to dear princess, I hope she feels better soon. I can't bear to hear my child coughing.
I love the look on her face in the photo.
what a sweet post and picture with the baby. we're a little under the weather here, too. hope P feels better soon.
Glad you had such a great day! As I sit here exhausted from another day of being a teenagers chauffer, I am jealous of your children's day celebration. I would MUCH prefer games and snuggles!
I love, love, love the idea of choosing a stack of books to be read the next day! I'm going to share that idea with my 5yo - that will be just her cup of tea! Thanks.
I hope that P is feeling better by now and has gotten rid of that cough. Hopefully she got well in time to go to the party on Sat.! CJ is on her second cold in as many months, so I feel your pain.
