Green Up Saturdays

We made another move to be greener around our little corner of the Garden State.
I picked up a new lawn mower for Farmer Dad last weekend from a fellow freecycler.
Can you see it? It is a reel mower. No motor..no fuel..just Farmer Dad Power.
Does a lovely job too. With the way gas prices are going, I couldn't pass it up.
What have you done this week to green up? Share if you care to.
Sorry to anyone looking for this post today, I thought I had it set to post this morning,
but it was set for Monday's date in error. (doh!)

Oh, I'm so jealous you found one of these on Freecycle! I have wanted one for so long but haven't taken the $100 leap yet. To be green at our house, we just don't mow the lawn ;)

I just saw one of those on my Freecycle Digest. I was happy to see it snapped up quickly. They're making a big come-back!

A reel mower actually works? Truly? That is something I'd want to try...

We basically do what we can - recycle, use the swirly lightbulbs, and not waste electricity.

It looks like you have been having a good week. Sorry I have not been around to comment much this week. So busy. I like your fair. It looks really sweet.

Under daddy power this would be great, not sure I'd want to do it. I have been loving my self propelled (gasp) gas mower. I'm finally mowing for the first time in my life...and we have A LOT of lawn.

We would go that way if our yard wasn't 5 acres. Congrats!!

How did I green up this week? Why, I walked 1.5 miles to the Publix with a canvas bag on my shoulder and bought organic avocados with a recycled credit card.

Most of that is true.

We also have a reel mower. And I am the one who uses it. Now for trimming edges and weeds we also have Long neck grass shears

and Z uses them.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
