Green Up Saturdays

Tip #2...this one is simple really...
reduce. Think about whether you even need
something before you buy it. Is the packaging worth it?
The fuel? Your time and money?
Do our kids need yet another plastic toy wrapped
up in more plastic, none of which can be recycled or
will even be broken down during our life times.
Not too hard is it..just asking you to think about it.

I know all about how hard it is to say no, but how
about getting a "new to you" toy from freecycle instead,
or at Goodwill or another thrift store, yard sale,or tag sale
near you?
The other side of this is to freecycle, recycle, donate to a
thrift, goodwill,or local charity instead of tossing into the trash when
you are cleaning out your attic, garage, basement, toy room.

I'm going back to bed now, still feeling crummy.
Best thing we ever received from a Freecycler....
that's easy..our Pumpkin.

I post everything on freecycle and if nobody takes it, To salvation army it goes! I had some lady just come yeasterday and take all my whip cream containers! I save them just for the heck of it and when I get 6 or 7 I post them on freecycle. People use theese for alot of different things!
Check out my savings! First time ever couponing and I did GREAT! Im soooo happy!

I love Pumpkins smile. I have to admit I have bought very little this past year and a half except for construction material for our house. I love freecycle and craigslist. Reusing something makes me feel so much better than buying new. Hey- I'll even pickup stuff on the side of the road. That's how I got all my kitchen chairs. I'm proud to be a dumpster diva!

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
