brought to you by Mom Unplugged, is STICKY.
We had many ideas about how to achieve this, but my
niece called Sunday night, and asked us to go down the shore
with her on her day off. How could I say no?
We drove down to Sandy Hook and had a lovely day
splashing about in the water, collecting sea shells and
we even caught and released some wild life (a crab and a mussel).
Princess had a great time playing with her cousin and some little boys
who were down with their families. She was not afraid of the water
this time although she kept reminding us to be "alert", as the ocean
is dangerous and should be taken seriously.
(I love when she "parrots" me!)
In case you think we were slacking on our "project day", here are some examples of "stickiness",
- The temperature was about 100 degrees Fahrenheit here in New Jersey, so believe me, we were sticky!
- Sand sticks to everything!
- Ice cream on the beach!
- We took turns "sticking" to Princess like glue near the water.
- This little lady bug "stuck" near her all day, and even came home on our blanket.
- This little boy and Princess also "stuck together" ,talking, collecting shells, warning each other of rogue waves.
but we had a lot of fun. I splurged on a season pass, so we can go back often this year.

So cute and clever. ;)
Take me with you next time! Its cold here and now way could we play in the ocean! :(
thanks for sharing. I enjoyed your pics.
What a wonderful day. The beach is so much fun. We don't go often enough. Okay, we went last week, but we don't go to swim in summer often enough :-)
That is the absolute best kind of Unplugged Project. I love the look of joy on P's face in those photos! Glad you had fun, but I hope it cools down just a bit for you.
That was a cool way to do the project. It looks like it was a lot of fun. We haven't been to the beach in ages. We just haven't had the time to go out of town.
So they charge you to go to the beach or is it a state beach?
Looks so nice! Great "sticky" examples.
Pay for beach??? how sad, but at least you can get there! We are 5 hours from one! I wish I had all that sand to shake out of clothes for the next week,
You are clever. LOL I loved your post. I made me crack up. yes, sand, ice cream all are sticky. LOL Very cute. She is so grown. Her hair is long.
Sticky, indeed!
It only made the upper 90s here, but we were whining anyway :)
I love all the pictures. I've only been to Sandy Hook once, but it was off season, so we enjoyed walking on the little paths. I loved that they had bike paths everywhere!
I'm partial to Long Beach Island, but we also do Wildwood time to time. This year was the first time I went to Sea Isle City. We had so much fun putting our beach chairs right in the water! RIGHT IN IT!! My son likes to do that too now!
Really enjoyed the pictures of Princess. I love to see kids playing at the beach. No fair, summer is on it's way out of here!
