Princess is almost six!

Princess is only almost six.
I can't make up my mind.
She can be such a "big girl" some
of the time, that I forget she is really
just a little girl .

Do you do this as well? I find myself thinking
"why are you doing that?" when it is perfectly
normal six year old behavior.I caught myself saying, "act your age".
Of course she was.

Act your age...what a comment to come out of mouths!! My little is almost 4 and she seems sooo big, then the next minute she's babbling and snuggling her blankie!!

I love six. I love Eloise, and Weenie, and Skipperdee.

(I especially love Skipperdee.)

While I don't think I've ever said "act your age," last weekend I heard myself thinking, "oh, just grow up!" I didn't say it though. The kids were within ear-shot, and it's just not a good idea to undermine MrZ in front of the kids by telling him to grow up.

When the Eenas were little, I could change their stubborn attitude at bath time by calling it a "bawth."

Kay Thompson was brilliant!

It seem like just yesterday she was four years old. Time really does go quickly. I suppose you can enjoy the snuggly part of not acting her age. It is the sassy, meltdown part that drives me crazy.

I read once that children are very centered at their half birthday mark and but become unbalanced when they turn to the next year. I've always found that true with Cate. Right now we are in the blissful (lol) half year period.

Six! too big!

Six is little but when you hit it it seems so much older than five.

Oh I so understand. Especially with Sam. That kid is always acting so much bigger than he really is. Then when he acts his age (makes me happy) throughs my whole world out of wack. It is a really weird feeling.

OH yeah! This happens to me more with Mia than with Tatum. She's always seemed older than her age, even when she was a baby. When I discipline her for having a tantrum or putting too much food in her mouth it always escapes me that she's NOT EVEN TWO YET!

Enjoy she still is a little girl, but they do seem older when you hit six.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
