This week the Unplug Your Kids Group Project
theme is NATURE.
So here is what we did......
we took some of the ornaments we made a while back, strung them
and covered them with peanut butter, then we dipped them in birdseed.
Then we took them outside and hung them on a couple of the trees in our yard.
Princess thought it would be nice to leave some plain seed too, so we chose some locations
we see the birds in our yard, the cardinal pair likes this piece of log..

What a great idea! And such a nice holiday treat for our animal friends :) I've been so bogged down by the moving thing that I totally forgot today was Unplugged Monday until checking out your blog! (MY bad). We did give a little shout out passing #9 though :)
Thanks Daph!
I hope your move goes smoothly..too bad you're moving so far away.
This is such a nice idea, and a great one for "nature." We always do a bird's Christmas feast with peanut butter pinecones and such on Christmas Eve, but I like the idea of using cookie ornaments. They are probably easier to manage and look quite festive. Let us know how the birds enjoy your feast!
I hope your Dad is doing better. My thoughts are with you.
Oh my goodness! If I had little kids, I'd do this in a flash. What a wonderful idea! Thank you. I'll keep this on brain-file for when I do have kids about. It's just perfect.
How fun! Also, cardinals love cut up oranges! Hey, where is little man lately ? Didn't that work out? Thinking of you!
That looks so wonderful. What a sweet girl you have to think of the birds like that.
Thank you all very much for stopping by and commenting.
Angela- we do an orange "cup" for our cardinal couple at Christmas that they love, but we were out of oranges.
I really need to send Farmer Dad to the store today.
He is off for the rest of the month, so I have to find something for him to do!!
That is an awesome idea!
That is a lovely idea - which I think we'll be copying :-)
That was a neat idea!
I love this idea! Did you use cookies or applesauce ornaments or is it something else you put the pb and seed on? We have put peanut butter on pine cones but pine cones are impossible to find when snow covers them up. I would love to copy this in Jan/Feb when we get lots of cold weather and lots of snow. It is such a great idea!!!
OH! I LOVE your ornaments on your Christmas tree!
Thanks for the rmeinder. I usually make suet for the birds in the winter and I totally forgot about it this year!
I like that idea! It seems easier then rolling pine cones in peanut butter, which was fun but messy. And I love P's rain boots!!
