Rolling out the gingerbread dough
Decorating gingerbread men cookies
Our friend's waiting in their pj s for the power to come back on at their house after the ice storm.
Drawing on the chalkboard
Playing an alphabet game with bean bags
Opening our package from Jenny
Princess was so excited!!
Putting the gingerbread house together
Decorating it.....
It only took us three days
It was hard to not "control" the final product, but ultimately, it was Princess's house.
Our icing should have been thicker..we were dripping all over the place as you can see.

Wow! You've been busy. Looks like tons of fun...
Hi Michelle, We did have fun.
:-) Thanks for stopping by to visit us!
Lovely photos! I love the gingerbread house. We're going going to attempt a real one this year, too.
Congratulations to Princess on her lovely gingerbread house!
WOW! First I want to say I Love that P. wears a hat to tea time! It looks very proper. lol Your chalk board is HUGE! I had one like that when I was a child. My father got it from an old school. I have lots of fun memories with my chalkboard. I LOVE your gingerbread house! I love the look of the dripping frosting! It looks like snow and ice the way houses look at this time of year. She did a wonderful job!
Thank you all! I can't wait to see all the gingerbread houses..P is very into them. She wanted to have another "party" like last year, but we've got too much on our plate this year.
Or maybe I'm just older and wiser ;-)
I think Ami would enjoy having P to tea. She did a nice job on her gingerbread house.
What a great week. You are such a good mom to let her do what she wanted with the Gingerbread House. Not controlling the process is (will be) a big issue for me. It really looks great.
You totally lucked out on that chalkboard and freecycle. Everytime I see it I want one that big. ;)
Where did you find those worksheets? Are they for sequencing?
It is all ice here as welll. My dh has been gone for 7 days and just called and said that Chicago is canceling flights all over the place. So it looks like another day with my crabby housebound kids. Today Citcat said to me, "if you don't do it I'm going to snap." I wonder where she has heard that one. :)
LOL, Nina, as I wrote to you earlier,
controlling P is not for the faint of heart. ;-)
Yes, those are sequencing worksheets, and I got them from a teacher on Freecycle.
M- Thank you, P would love that I am sure!
I love her house. I love how you allowed her to do her own. She must have had so much fun!!!!
What wonderful pictures- sorry it's taken me so long to comment. CJ has that same tea set, but she's never had such a proper tea party with it before! And of course you know what a success P's gingerbread house is- I still have remind myself that a perfect end result isn't really the point sometimes.
