In like a LION

It was starting to really feel like Spring was coming to our corner of the Garden State this weekend. Sure, there were rumors that snow was on it's way, but we have been passed over by most of the snow this year, so we really didn't get our hopes up.

Saturday we had a visit from Little Man, we made cookies and danced. Party Animals!
Sunday we made a short trip to pick up some stuff from freecycle,
just in case it did snow.We also stopped by Target for cat litter and
new toothpaste for Princess. She ran out of hers, and does not like ours..too minty.
A brief peak outside the window at around 2am confirmed to me that
we got just a bit, and I went back to bed.
I woke up Monday to Farmer Dad on the computer, as his job had closed due to the weather
it was snowing, and the weather channel was saying we had been "hit" yet. Hmmm.
I made a full pot of coffee. We watched the snow come down, Farmer Dad went out to
shovel a few times, we all headed out back to play for a bit, Too fluffy to make a snowman
or a fort, so snow angels and pulling Princess around on the sled it was.
Farmer Dad being home knocked us off our routine, so we just hung out and played and ate.Fresh chocolate chip cookies, warm soup, big stack of library books.

Nothing says "love" like an extra(and dry) pair of gloves in Momma's pocket.

I'm so jealous of the snow- we didn't get a bit this winter. Sounds like it was a lovely day. :o)

I laughed when I read that Princess thinks your toothpaste is too minty.... Owen says the same thing :)

We actually got snow this weekend ourselves! I was in the "I'll believe it when I see it" state of mind, seeing as how we live in SC. But, wow! We got 5 inches, and the kids had a blast! I'm getting ready to post pictures! Looks and sounds like you guys had as much fun as we did! :-)

I won't play in the snow. Next time I'm dropping the peanut off so you can do all that outdoorsy crap with her :)

Looks like you all had fun! Why do our hubby's have a way of making us abandon our routines?? I'm sue it's a welcomed interruption.

It sounds like you made the most of the snow. Good for you!

Wow, that is big container of Lincoln Logs! The Little Man has gotten bigger. I know spring is coming, but it looks so cold there.

Oh, you did get snow! I love the pictures of the gloves and that you had a dry pair waiting in the wings. I know how something so simple is the world to a child! Sounds like you had a great time.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
