Friday wrap up

Well, this week had very little school and a whole lot of learning.
I was feeling terrible most of the week, so Princess had a lot of
time to just "be".She wrote songs, two books, we made stuffed mushrooms pizza, bread,

cupcakes, soup, hand washed a huge box of vintage linens..I may get around
to posting some of that next week...some really cool aprons and tablecloths.
We have been researching the best way to clean them and get stains out of them.
She improved her vocabulary and made a list of movies she needs to see,
and places we must go, and things she wants to learn. We were going to make bird feeders

and suet "cakes" for the birds, but I just couldn't make it happen.
We played in the snow, snuggled and read, she made up stories for me and poured my tea.

She rubbed my back and fetched blankets and sweaters. We went to help Great Grandma
up off the floor (she broke her ankle, but forgets she can't walk),we watched traffic drive by and snow swirl.

We also watched plenty of television. Now, she is at a birthday party with Farmer Dad,
and I am at home..alone. :-D
Doesn't happen very often. I listened to loud music, vacuumed, did more laundry,
all very exciting. I was going to go to the library, but it is cold out and dark, and my books
are not due until tomorrow, so it will wait. Tomorrow is Farmer Dad's 43rd Birthday.
we will give him his gifts with breakfast, and hang out, and then we will vacate the premises
so the "guys" can come over and "jam". It will be way too loud for us.
Hopefully they don't shake anything off the walls. I will post his very "green" gift
after we give it to him..just in case he's up before me tomorrow and reads this.
Have a lovely weekend!

That "being" sure was educational! I hope you're feeling better soon. And I hope FD has a great birthday - but I must admit, I'm glad I'm not your neighbour, lol!

Wow, supermom. You don't even stop for the sniffles. You got a lot done. Love the princess' drawings.

What would I do if I had the house to myself? I'd probably clean the attic. I am such an exciting person, too!

It is so cool to watch as P's drawing and writing improve. Her Pumpkin is so lifelike.

Happy Birthday, Farmer Dad!

Ha ha. I'm the same way when I'm home alone - loud music and housework! You had a busy week, despite feeling crummy. I'm impressed!

I hope you are feeling better by now. Learning does happen in all forms. P is certainly a sweet and caring girl and that will go a long way in the world.

I used to have the same set of dishes as the teacup photo. I must have given them away years ago but I still remember using them when dh and I were first married.

HP to FD.

Love that bird drawing.

What a sweet and caring Princess you have. It sounds as if she was an excellent nursemaid. Hope you are on the mend. A slow week is good now and then.

My husband turned the same age as your spouse in November.

P certainly kept her self busy and as she gets older she will do even more. This is what Amy does. She learns on her own and I keep track of it. It helps to be surrounded by lots of books and books on your interests as well as some netflix documentaries, paper, art supplies and a computer.

I like her cat drawing. It is very good.

Isn't it funny when you actually get to stay home alone, now. I always feel like i'm 12 years old again...with the house all to myself, lol! :)

Happy Birthday to Farmer Dad :) Hope your weekend was lovely!

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
