Thursday

used to feel like the longest day of the week to me, but now that I am home
most days, it goes so quickly! Maybe because I always think I can get so much done
in any one given day, that they are never long enough. Last night Princess worked on decorating her "science notebook" for the "science play date" Friday.

Today,Princess and I had a leisurely breakfast,
and then we showered and dawdled and then she played on the computer while I dressed,
and then after Farmer Dad came home for lunch, we went to Target to pick up a few needed
items. We were out of transparent tape for one thing. I had no way to set up our "bulletin board"
for this month. And we only had one mini chocolate bar left....we would have to share that little bit ?
Oh no, not going to happen around here! We were very well behaved, and stuck to our list, except
the "Halloween" candy is set out (already!?!) and we picked up some M&Ms (we'll be thinking of you Nina).
Now it is almost time for Farmer Dad to come home from work, and we have not picked up or anything.
Oh well. We did have a bit of fun this morning while I checked my mail. I put several "smiley face" stickers
on a piece of construction paper and gave it to her to make a picture incorporating them. She did quite nicely.
I will try to post a picture here, be sure to check out the "little blue birds" on the left side..they are my favorite.

She is looking more grown up!
The science notebook is colorful and it sounds like a fun idea for a group.

I love the idea of a science playgroup for this age, instead of structured classes. Little ones should be mixing things and exploring! Were you shocked at all the Halloween displays already? Yikes...I am so not ready for that!

Thanks Amanda- it doesn't often
feel "peaceful and productive",
but I wish it did. ;-)

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
