Playing Catch up

I can not believe it has been so long since I last posted!
We have been very busy, cleaning, canning, playing and
yes, even some reading. I have a whole slew of books to write about, but first I will try
to catch you all up on what we've been up to.
Princess helped Dad in the garden, to patch the driveway, we attended a party to celebrate
the "End of Summer" with friends on Saturday.Sunday found us "down the shore" visiting Farmer Dad's Mum.
We drove down to the boardwalk and watched the "offshore boat races" while Princess enjoyed the rides.
We had a leisurely lunch at a nearby restaurant and sat on the dock watching the boats offload their catch.
We got home in time to watch some football and play a bit before bed.
Princess and I will spend this week getting ready for our school to start on
Thursday. The schools went back today in our town, and we decided to not start on the same day.
They are off for Thursday and Friday, so we will begin then.
Here are some pictures including one of Princess holding an Ostrich egg Nana brought back from a
trip to visit her sister who lived in South Africa at the time. She loves going to Nan's and asking "where did you get this Nana?" as she picks up everything in her reach.

It's always better to be out living life than blogging it. Looks like you had a full week

It's easy to lose track of "blog time" when you're having so much fun!

Sophia is sitting next to me as I looked at your pictures and she informed me that "whatever that is, we're going there" in reference to the Jersey shore. I told her we were going to Disneyland next week - she told me she wanted to go "there" (the jersey shore) instead. hmmph.

I am wistful, as our trip down the shore was cancelled this year (wouldn't have been much fun with NatureGirl's arm in a cast.) There is nothing like just hoping in a car and being there. Whereabouts is Nana? We have an Auntie who is a life0ling resident of Wildwood Crest.

My homeschool buddies and I are all posting pics of our "home schools" as part of our idea sharing.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
