Canning Tomatoes

I have been canning tomatoes today. It is just the start for me, but I have two batches done and I'll have more to do soon. The house is not any cleaner, and I just didn't get too far on the laundry, but at least I got some canning done.
I still have many things to get done to be ready for Kindergarten to start.
It looks like we will meet a couple of other homeschoolers with girls the same age as Princess tomorrow.
Our "science play group" will begin next Friday.
We will be going to one of the science hands on museums on her actual birthday for the "homeschoolers day"
they have scheduled, I already made our reservations, and hopefully one of our play group Moms and her two boys will meet us there. I still have plenty of things to do to prepare for her birthday party, so it's back to work for me.
I just wanted to stop in and let you all know that I'm feelin' the "bloggy love" you have all been sending and I'm working on getting my chores done so I can get back to the fun stuff.
Princess has been busy playing Barbies and playing with her magnetic letters today.
She also did some drawing and of course singing and dancing.
We picked up a mandolin on Freecycle this weekend, and she has been taking turns with Farmer Dad
playing it for me.They just came in from the yard with two more baskets of tomatoes,
some squash, peppers and a bowl of figs! Yummy.
While I write this, they are heading downstairs to play some skeeball.
Dinner is cooking and I'm ready for bed.
I will post a couple of pictures from Tuesday and Wednesday.

How wonderful to have all that come out of your backyard garden! I have never done anything like canning tomatoes, but would love to try it sometime. Science play group sounds so fun, looking forward to hearing how it goes.

Hi Brit- I am really looking forward to it as well.
Mrs.D- lol, yes my kitchen has never
been cleaned so often and still been so messy, lol.Isn't it amazing where tomato seeds end up?

M- Thank you, we don't have as many as I would like, the groundhog really destroyed so much of our garden this year.

I thought of you this afternoon when the heat started to rise...ugh! It will feel good to have it done and have all those jars put up though. We'll catch up on the bloggy love next week!

When I was doing my "lets not die dust allergies" cleaning on top of the cabinets in our kitchen I found a tomato seed that somehow ended up stuck to the cabinet molding. How did it even get that high? That's like a serious 6 feet, and it had to clear the hood. That was one determined seed. I think it's awesome that P going to grow up knowing how to can too. Sadly, it is a dying art.

I had to share with you that Gabe and I were looking at your blog. He saw your "little dancing person" on the side and he wanted her to talk to him. he was sad when I said she could not talk. LOL He is to cute sometimes.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
