Fun Neighborhood

Do you have a fun neighborhood?
We are very lucky to have some wonderful neighbors.
When it got seriously hot here, my neighbor broke out the kiddie pool
and the hose for some wet summertime fun! We spent a couple of hours
playing in the kiddie pool and splashing under the hose. Their son is about 16 months old, and Princess loves to play with him.

Who needs to drive to the water park?
Not us..we live in a fun neighborhood!

Wish I could say we lived in a FUN area. It is okay. But it is not the safest area or friendly. But we try to make it good by shining our light to the kids that really don't have the raising my kids do.

I WISH we lived in a fun area. Nobody on base gets that fun. Nope.

But because this area is VERY safe, they just send their children off to play at the playgrounds.

No hoses, no kiddie pools... Because we have no yards. :-(

I'm living vicariously through your pics, remember what it was like to live in a house earlier this year!

A house versus an apartment tower, that is!

I grew up in fun neighbourhoods. Children roaming around free, playing all afternoon and well into the night, almost no tv, just good honest fun. It seems impossible to find that kind of thing any more. You are really lucky.

What fun! THey look like they are having a great time.

No. Our neighbors are older. Forgot the names of the ones next door because they have been rarely in town in the last 6 years. The other side is nice and dd use to play with their grandkids, but they have not been around. Across and diagonal are an older pair that yell so much they frighten the birds. I can't figure out if they are hard of hearing or fighting. Our neighbor behind is the open space buffer and the golfers.

Oh yes you are lucky. And they are lucky that P like to play with the little boy. I can't imagine Cate having any interest in a younger child.

We have a decidedly unfriendly neighborhood with mostly families with nannies. I get the impression that they think their children are too good to play with mine. Most of them were a $500 day camps all Summer while mine were playing with the hose, reading and generally fighting. ;)

We do have one neighborhood friend that we've come to really appreciate.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
