I have left you unattended for about 2 weeks.
I could tell you all it is gardening season and I have begun
the mad canning blitz, I could also say I was busy helping my sister move out and clear out 50+years of "stuff" from our Grandparents house in preparation of it's sale,I could say.."hey, it's summer, we're busy playing!" These would all be correct, but not completely honest.
I am always busy. I am a full time, stay at home Mom ,homeschooling my very active Princess
in the middle of the suburbs. I garden, cook from scratch most nights, have cleaning and laundry
and make my own curriculum. I also like to read. For fun, and to expand my mind.
Add in any socializing at all and we are full up over here.
Most of the time I can do it. Not effortlessly, but it may appear so to someone looking in.
I am not a whiner, life is hard. I tend to play with the hand I am dealt so to speak.
Lately, life has been TOO MUCH. I feel tired. A lot. A dark cloud has been following me around
for weeks, probably months, I was just too busy to notice. I am looking into medical reasons,
but I am not counting on them to find an answer. I started exercising. Every day.
I borrowed a couple of dvds from our library, and settled on Hip Hop Abs.
Go ahead and laugh, everyone else has.
I don't care. I started a little over a week ago, and I lost weight, and fit into clothes
that have been hanging in my closet with tags because I got too fat to wear that size,
but didn't realize it. I have not made any real dietary changes, just more aware of eating
3 healthy meals. I do not skip breakfast because I am too busy. I am making some time for me.
I got a manicure and pedicure last week, after my doc appointment, and this week I will do something else for me. I have decided we will take August off here in our Garden State Homeschool. I will get back on track with my blogging. Thank you all for the wonderful e-mails
and in some cases phone calls of concern. I love our community and won't be packing it in quite yet. I will try to post what we did for our last book club book here tomorrow, and Friday I will have a new book as well as posting photos of our giveaway selection. My apologies to all my readers and the kind people at Jump Start for dropping the giveaway ball.

Hi Kate,
Boy can I ever relate! It sounds like you're on the right track, though and that's GREAT. Sometimes all we do is give and give and give, and there has to be a breaking point somewhere. I'm actually glad to know I'm not the only one struggling sometimes! Glad you're back- take care and be well! (HUGS)
No worries, Kate! everyone needs to take time to themsleves every now and again. A little time for self indulgence nd self reflection makes us better mothers, wives, and friends. Take your time and find your center again!
Hope you have sun shining on your heart again soon! ((((HUGS))))
TAKE your Me Time. You deserve it! These are the last few weeks of summer... The precious, long, lazy Dog Days.
Enjoy them by yourself, with your Princess, and with your husband.
Believe me, Kate, when I say I completely understand that place under that black cloud.
You must be good to yourself. Only then can you be as good to others as you would like to be. And that's the truth.
And that breakfast thing? An amazingly good trick. Thanks for the reminder.
yay im so glad you have blogged! hang in there i know you can do it.get out of this funk! i am so glad you were able to get a mani pedi yay kate
Thinking of you and wishing you well. (((hugs)))
If you like Hip Hop Abs, you might also like some of the latin dance aerobics. I take a "Zumba" class at the gym and it's been a real lifesaver. The kiddies don't like having to go to the YMCA childcare, but I'm no good to anyone if I don't. Take all the time you need, wishing you happiness.

That's great that you are taking care of yourself. It's hard for many mothers to put their self as a priority, but I think we mean more to those we love when we care for ourselves. Sometimes when months of stress come to some closure it hits your system after the fact. Getter better, and take care of yourself.
I kept checking to see... and surprise - you're back!
I've missed you girl!!
Take all the time you need -no apologies. Blogging is supposed to be fun and something that adds to your day- not another obligation.
I salute your new plan for a healthier you. It is inspiring and will probably lead to my getting up out of this chair for a good long walk this morning.
Hugs to you and your sweet girl :) XO
Tara
Bad bad blogging friend...sorry I haven't emailed lately.
I think we have all been under that cloud. You've had so much going on this spring and summer with your family, of course you are tired. I don't know how you manage to keep all the balls in the air. If once in a while blogging takes a back burner that is more than okay. I love that you are taking care of yourself.
Glad to see the photos you posted this morning. Take care. I'll email you today. :)
Glad you're back! Hope you are feeling better soon! Don't feel bad about some low tide time.
There you are! Please don't go away for long. I missed you and your presence here is important to me. I look forward to sharing with you in this format (it is the only format we have... unless you are on Facebook)
It sounds like you are doing the right things to take care of yourself. I think that is great. We all probably need to take better care of ourselves.
See you soon, I hope!
i have found that water, diet, and exercise are the biggest determinents of how I feel.
A good diet shouldn't be so hard for you with all of the veggies you have been picking. Just keep up with the Hip Hop Abs and a bottle of water and all should be good.
Or so I tell myself....
bad blogger?
Look at me....it took me three days to read this post!
I have been a bad friend, too absent even to notice that you were off your rhythm, let alone draped in the dark aura.
I am so sorry. I thought we were all just drifting off to other venues of expression, but I have to admit that my own failure to post here has been about more than "other venues," too.
I'm impressed at the steps that you're taking to help yourself feel better. Keep it up and keep us posted.
And hugs to Princess.
