Summer

Summer has arrived, and we have been enjoying the warmer weather in our little corner of the Garden State.

Swimming

 Harvesting

Heading down the shore..

Walking around local parks and greenhouses..

Exploring estate sales and yard sales for vintage goodies...
 Reading in the backyard..
Have you made a lot of wonderful plans for your Summer? Will you travel, or stay close to home?
Do you stop the "schooling" for the Summer season?
We will be doing the "staycation" thing this year with maybe a weekend away here and there...learning is year round for us so we just keep on doing what we're doing. My girl has lots of plans for sleepovers in the backyard tent and "Camp Katie Days" with close friends which should keep things interesting.

Time flies.....

whether you are having fun..or not. You might as well make it fun! My girl and I do our best to make it does not mean we never get annoyed with each other or shed a tear. Life can be stressful. Homeschooling can be stressful. Becoming a teen is apparently very stressful. ;-) We had our share of losses this year...our beloved Alley cat died.
Our hermit crab died. A new cat, Miley joined our home as winter became too harsh for her to survive outside.
Our little Pumpkin had a health crisis..
My girl has been growing and learning and changing her likes and dislikes. I like the young person she is becoming.

My homeschool buddies and I are all posting pics of our "home schools" as part of our idea sharing.

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion has no hold on the mind. Therefore do not use compulsion, but let early education be a sort of amusement; you will then be better able to discover the child's natural bent .
